Storm Team 12: Cool/wet Easter weekend

April 22, 2011|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

Another cold front will cross the state tonight, but the chances for showers and storms will be limited to northern Oklahoma and southeast Kansas. Temperatures are expected to remain cool throughout the weekend with highs in the mid 50s across northern Kansas to the mid 60s in the south.

Saturday is expected to be dry around Kansas with increasing clouds throughout the day.

The chance for rain will be back late Saturday night as moisture begins moving up from the south to interact with a storm system coming out of the west. Some rain showers will be around for Easter morning, and then more showers and storms will develop late in the day and continue into Sunday night.

The threat for severe storms will be very low this weekend, but some heavy rainfall may accompany the storms south and east of the Kansas Turnpike.
