The Fort Hays State University softball team moved to 22-20 on the season, 7-11 in the MIAA, after splitting games at Central Missouri and Southwest Baptist this weekend.
The Lady Tigers started the road swing at the University of Central Missouri, where they came away with the split. In game one, the game was scoreless through 6 inning, that's when FHSU pushed acrossed two runs. That was more than enough for Maddie Holub, who struck out 7 in a 2-0 victory. Game two went just the oposite, where dispite a three hit, seven strike out performance by Kayla Rupa, the Lady Tigers fell 2-0 to the Jennies.
On Saturday Fort Hays State traveled to Southwest Baptist, where they also managed a split. In game one the Lady Tigers pounded out 13 hits and 12 runs to pick up a 12-1 win in 5 innings over the Bearcats. But the bats went silent in game two, as the FHSU managed just one hit in a 2-0 loss.
