If I had one complaint about NASCAR, it's that there are too many early season off weeks. I know that off weeks are necessary, I just wish they were spread out a little bit. That being said, the off week game me a chance to look around the sports landscape. It only reminded me why I love NASCAR so much.
I love baseball and football, I'm not so much of a hockey fan, though I like to see it live for sure. But all the talk theses days seems to be about labor. The NFL is looked out, the NBA looks like it is heading that way. Major League Baseball and the NHL have had past labor disputes that nearly destroyed the sport. And then there is NASCAR.
Granted, NASCAR drivers are very well paid for what they do, as they should be the sport is dangerous. But so much of what they make is performance based. To make money in NASCAR, you have to win races. That's not the case in the big 4, just as Matthew Stafford.
