(WICHITA, Kan.) — It’s a standard piece of equipment to test a driver’s blood alcohol level, but a Kansas county attorney refuses to prosecute cases that use it.
Despite drunk driving cases turned over to his office by law enforcement, Sumner County Attorney Evan Watson refuses to prosecute cases that use “breath evidence.”
Investigator Michael Schwanke will show you video of traffic stops involving suspected drunk drivers that never went to court.
“There is something not right here….there is really something not right here,” says Mary Ann Khoury, director of the DUI Victim Center of Kansas.
You will also hear the county attorney defend his decision.
