{WICHITA, Kan.} — Where was this offense earlier this week? Tyler Grimes, Preston Springer and Don Lambert all hit home runs while starting pitcher Charlie Lowell threw a complete-game 5-hitter as the Shockers shut-out league-leading Creighton 8-0.
Lowell was nails on the mound in his start striking out 8 batters and allowing just 5 hits and no runs.
Grimes and Springer both hit solo home runs for Wichita State while Lambert's 3-run shot in the 7th truly blew the game open for the Shockers. It was an error-free game for the Shocks who also smacked 15 hits off one of the better pitching staffs in the nation.
The Shockers are now just one game behind the Blue Jays in the Valley standings with two more games to play in this weekend's series.
