(HAYS, Kan.) — The Ellis County Coroner confirms an Ellis County deputy has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The deputy was found at the cemetery at 27th and Vine in Hays late Tuesday. According to the coroner, there is no evidence of foul play.
The deputy was 47 years old and has been with the Ellis County Sheriff's Department for 22 years.
