Five-year-old dies from accident in Scott County

(Scott County, Kan.) — A five-year-old is dead after a crash in Scott County.  The Kansas Highway Patrol says Noe Reyes was choking and the driver, Miguel Angel Reyes, looked to check on the status of the child.

At that time, the right-side tires went off the roadway on a curve. The driver attemped to correct the vehicle which caused the vehicle to slide across the roadway, enter the north ditch, and crash into cypress trees.

The accident occurred on Saturday as the vehicle was traveling eastbousd on West Scott Lake Drive near Beach House Drive at the Scott County Lake.

Miguel Angel Reyes and passenger Veronica Guadalupe Reyes were not injured. Noe Reyes was taken to the Scott County Medical Center. He was transferred to Wesley Medical Center and passed away this morning.

Noe was not restrained at the time of the crash.

Miguel, Veronica and Noe are from Dodge City, Kansas.
