Storm Team 12: Evening severe threat/again Friday

May 19, 2011|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

A tornado watch is in effect for much of central Kansas until 4 a.m.  This watch does not include Wichita but does include Hutchinson and Salina.

Storms should continue moving northeast through the remainder of the night, but the focus for severe weather development will again be over central and eastern Kansas on Friday. Storms will develop early in the afternoon and have the potential of turning severe, with the concern being large hail, wind, and a few tornadoes.

Warm weather is coming up for the weekend and both Saturday and Sunday should mainly be dry.
