(WICHITA, Kan.) — He's already serving 139 years for kidnapping and raping a convenience store clerk in 2008, now Robert Abner faces bank robbery charges.

A federal grand jury in Wichita indicted 42-year-old Robert Abner for the June 27th, 2008 robbery of the Garden Plain State Bank.

If convicted, he faces up to 25 years and a fine of up to $250,000.

Abner is already in prison serving time for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman who worked at a Viola convenience store.  She was released three days later in southeast Wichita.

He was sentenced to nearly 140 years, but because of state statutes, he will serve 47 years.
