{ARLINGTON, Tex.} — The Kansas City Royals hit three home runs in the top of the 14th inning to beat Texas 12-7.  This win snaps a 5-game losing streak for Kansas City and breaks an 8 game losing streak in Arlington.

Alex Gordon tied the game at 7 in the 9th inning with a solo home run.  Then Melky Cabrera and Alex Gordon hit back to back home runs in the 14th to give the Royals a lead.  Brayan Pena followed that up with a 3-run home run to give Kansas City the 12-7 lead.

Rookie Eric Hosmer was stellar in this game recording his first four-hit outing along with his first 4-RBI peformance.  Hosmer made a leaping grab at first in the 13th inning to save a run.

This now makes 28 extra innings played by the Royals this season which is equivalent to just over 3 full games.
