Storms leave mark across southeast Kansas

(WICHITA, Kan.) — Cars stalled due to flooding at Seneca & Marboro, & 31st Street South and Old Lawrence, near K-96 and North Meridian, Broadway and Pawnee, and Broadway and Washington, and Cowskin Creek at Maize and Kellogg.

There are reports of flooding in Sedgwick County at Central & West, Douglas & Bleckley and 13th & Main/ 13th & Broadway areas.

Conway Springs nursing home has no power.

Roads flooded at 35th and St. Clair

Sedgwick County authorites report that roads are flooded at Maize and Bartlett. There is a tree down at 200 E 53rd St. North in Wichita.

Poles and lines are down at 1551 N Payne, K42 & 135th St., and 1940 S. 135th

A pole on fire and hanging at 151st and Maple.

Stop lights out and down at Kellogg and Maize, 13th and Maize, Harry and Rock, Lincoln and Ashmore, and 31st Street and K15.

There are no know injuries in Sedgwick countuy at this time.

Westar Energy reports there are 8729 people without power in Sedgwick County.  1896 in Butler.

There are nine power poles down at 6100 East Cental. Lines are down at K42 & 135th West in Wichita.

Valley Center police have reported no damage to property at this time.

------------------------

Wesley Hospital  has moved patients to hallways as precaution. No injuries reported at Wesley or Saint Francis from the storm at this time.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the following counties until 9:00 PM:

Southwestern Marshal County in Northeast Kansas,
Southwestern Nemeha County in Northeast Kansas,
Western Pottawatomie County in Northeast Kansas
Central Riley County in Northeast Kansas

At 8:13 PM (CT) National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable fop producing half dollar sized hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Olsburg moving northeast at 45 mph.

Locations impacted include:

Blaine, Wheaton, Blue Rapids, Lillis, Frankfort, Marysville, Vermillion, Centralia

Weststar Energy reports that power lines are down in some parts of Sedgwick, Reno El Dorado and Marion counties.

Funnel cloud has been confirmed at 45th and Tyler in Wichita.

A rain wrapped tornado has been confirmed at 61st St and 215 near Colwich

Tornado warnings have been extended until 8:30 PM for some counties.
