(WICHITA, Kan.) — DAY SIX- Wednesday, June 8

I spent today hanging out at the Kansas Star Music Park at West Bank. One of the main attractions there was the Case New Holland (CNH) Buckaroo Buckarette Rodeo, petting zoo and pony rides. Children lined up to enjoy all the fun activities that were out there today. Other kid friendly games included a mini tractor race, lasso station, spinning rides, and bag tossing games.

The place that had the greatest number of visitors was the area where the petting zoo and pony rides were taking place. Volunteers helped assist young children as they got to ride around on six little ponies.  The petting zoo also had a wide variety of small animals. It had everything from baby goats, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, and even two llamas. There were buckets full of food for the animals in which the children had fun feeding and petting them. I even got to feed some of the cute baby goats. However, I didn’t take my chances feeding the llamas due to the fact that I was afraid they might spit on me.

Other areas at the Kansas Star Music Park that were attracting crowds of people this evening included the Bluegrass Concert and the Food Court. The Food Court has all the fair foods that people love, including: bratwursts, burgers, pizza, fried oreos, brisket sandwiches, and funnel cakes. And yes, I have tried out all of these foods so far this week and I am now probably 10 pounds heavier. However, the food at the Kansas Star Music Park is definitely worth trying, especially the spicy cheddar bratwurst at F & J Catering. It was delicious!

Also, while you’re out at the Kansas Star Music Park check out the caricature stand set up near the Croc’s Feel the Love Comfort Station. Children were enjoying stopping by this stand today to get their picture drawn by two talented artists. Caricature portraits are always a fun thing that children will enjoy having done.

Tomorrow I’ll be heading over to the Century II Kennedy Plaza for the 26th Annual Cajun Food Fest. This should be a very tasty event and it’s only going to cost $7 with your Riverfest button. It begins at 5:00 pm and goes to 8:30 pm. You can’t pass this one up, so I’ll see you out there!
