Every summer the Sedgwick County Zoo has a series of concerts called the Capitol Federal Summer Concert Series that takes place every other Thursday. The first one was last Thursday, June 2. The band was Liverpool – a Beatles tribute band. It was a blast! You can buy food, drinks, bring a lawn chair and just sit back and relax. Shane, Rashell (from Univision) and I were able to make it out to the concert, have some fun, find out what people’s favorite Beatles songs are, etc. The Crew will actually be at all of the concerts. Now, this summer there is a lot of great talent coming out to the zoo, a lot of soul, rock, R&B…..basically, you don’t wanna miss it.
Here is this summer’s line up:
June 16 is Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds - a mix of gut-busting soul, earthy rock and New Orleans beats.
