(WICHITA, Kan.) — A ceremony marks a change of command Tuesday at Wichita's McConnell Air Force Base.
Colonel Ricky N. Rupp took over as the commanding officer of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing. He replaces Colonel James W. Crowhurt, who is leaving McConnell for a job at the Pentagon as U.S. Air Force Headquarters Director of Air Operations.
Col. Rupp comes to McConnell from serving as Vice Commander of the 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base in Japan. The flies planes including the KC-135R air refueling planes.
At McConnell Col. Rupp will lead more than 2,600 active-duty airmen. The 22nd is also the host wing for the 184th Intelligence Wing and the 931st Air Refueling Group.
