Police say this man robbed the Verus Bank in El Dorado

(EL DORADO, Kan.) — Police in El Dorado release surveillance images of the man who robbed the Verus Bank Tuesday afternoon.

He's described as a white male in his mid to late forties with a stocky build and wide hips.

He was wearing blue jeans a white shirt with light blue verticle stripes and a two-tone Emprise Bank ball cap.  He also had dark glasses and a medical mask with a pink and purple cartoon animal pattern.

The suspect was carrying a computer satchel and claimed to have a weapon, which was covered by a towel. 

Anyone with information is asked to call authorities.

A man gets away with a small amount of money after an armed robbery in El Dorado.

Police say a white man walked into the Verus Bank at 6th and Main around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon. He was wearing a medical mask and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect claimed to be armed, but a weapon was never seen. No bank staff or customers were injured.

FBI agents from the local field office are aiding in the investigation along with officers of the El Dorado Police Department, Butler County Sheriff's Department, Augusta Police Department. There have been several leads.

The El Dorado Police plan to release bank surveillance images.

The suspect was described as having a stocky build. He was wearing a white print, long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans with a ball cap and dark glasses. He fled on foot and may have an accomplice.
