(WICHITA, Kan.) — A building fire north of downtown Wichita was deliberately set late Wednesday night, fire officials said.

Heavy smoke was pouring from the business at 246 N. Emporia shortly after 10:00 p.m. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames and keep the fire contained to one building, Fire Marshal Brad Crisp said.

The building was used to store paperwork and other items related to a construction business, Crisp said.  Investigators determined the cause was arson, but Crisp would not elaborate.

Damage was about $30,000.
