(WICHITA, Kan.) — For a place that won't host guests for almost a month, it's already cleaning up. "We paint, make sure the bleachers are clean, " said Lance Brown of Intrust Bank Arena Operations.
The Intrust Bank Arena will go almost 6 weeks between acts. So crews figured it was a good time to clean between every nook and cranny.
"It's real important," said Brown. "I think the customers appreciate a clean floor and a clean building."
Now you might be thinking this is a slow time of year for the Intrust Bank Arena. But it's actually slow for most arenas across the country. This is summer, and most people want to be outside, whether you're giving the concert, or watching it.
That's why arenas - with their indoor air-conditioning - use this downtime to catch up.
"This time of year we're working on next year," said AJ Boleski, General Manager of the Intrust Bank Arena. "We're always a season ahead, and we're working every day to book larger events, bigger events, and more events for Wichita."
So if you're concerned about no events at the Intrust Bank Arena, no worries.
"We'll ramp back up at the end of July," said Boleski, "and be busy through the end of the year."
