Garden City woman killed in Lane County crash

(WICHITA, Kan.) — A Garden City woman dies in a crash Friday morning in Lane County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Patricia Cruz was driving west on K-96 east of Dighton just before 7:00, when her van drifted off the north side of the road. Investigators say Cruz over-corrected and the vehicle rolled multiple times, throwing Cruz from the car.

Cruz was taken to a Lane County hospital where she died. Investigators say she was not wearing a seat belt. No one else was in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
