Storm Team 12: No changes yet

July 19, 2011|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen

The huge high pressure that has been over Kansas for the last several days will move east for the rest of the week, but that doesn't offer up any relief from the heat yet.

A cold front will get close to northern Kansas on Wednesday, but the cooler temperatures will be staying up in Nebraska and the Dakotas. It will be very hot again Wednesday with afternoon highs above 100 and excessive heat warnings and heat advisories continue.

Scattered storms will move into northwest Kansas Wednesday night, but they'll remain somewhat isolated.

Thursday will be hot once again, but with a stalled out front along the Kansas-Nebraska stateline, scattered storms may develop Thursday evening or into the overnight hours.
