(WICHITA, Kan.) — Fewer acts, less money. The result is layoffs at Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena.
The arena management company announced it has laid-off five of it's 46 full time employees. Those workers held jobs in marketing, finance, engineering and security.
“We still expect this year to be successful, it's just a little bit slower so we needed to make some adjustments just like any business would,” said arena Manager AJ Boleski.
Arena officials say it's tough to compete with last year when many top name acts booked to play the new venue. This year fewer acts are traveling and concert numbers are down nationwide.
