Storm Team 12: Showers/storms

some heat relief

August 03, 2011|By Meteorologist Mark Larson

A cold front has pressed its way into Oklahoma.  For the Wichita area, that means less heat than Tuesday, but now we have more humidity around.  Highs this afternoon will range from low to mid 80s over northwest Kansas, to the low 100s for southern portions of our state. Scattered storms will continue to develop around the area throughout the afternoon and may provide some heat relief during the hottest hours of the day.

Showers and storms will still be possible Wednesday night and into Thursday. Look for isolated storms with temperatures near 100 in southern Kansas, and low to mid 90s over central and northern parts of the state.

Right now our weekend looks hot and dry again.
