Damage reports:
There are numerous reports of tree limbs, power lines and backyard equipment strewn about the city of Wichita and surrounding areas. Flooding concerns from during the storm have subsided. Drivers are warned to be careful driving as tree limbs and branches may litter the streets.
What am I going to do with all these limbs?
According to Joe Pajor, with City of Wichita Public Works, citizens of Wichita are responsible for cleanup and removal of tree debris that is on their private property. The City will take care of tree debris in the streets and any trees located on public property that the City normally maintains.
If this policy changes, we will let you know.
Power Outages:
Officials say the current outage is so widespread that they are trying to get as many back on at once as possible. There is no priority list. Westar says it could be late Friday before all customers are restored.
