(BUTLER COUNTY, Kan.) — Two men are hurt after an ultra-light plane crash near the Butler County-Cowley County line.

It happened just before 6pm Saturday evening. Officials say the two took off in the aircraft near Pilot's Point which is a small airfield in Douglass.

When they got up, their engine began to sputter so they looked for a place to land. They wound up landing in a milo field.

The pilot suffered serious cuts. He was airlifted to a Wichita hospital for treatment.  The passenger suffered only minor injuries and did not want treatment at the scene.
