St. John, Kan. — One person was taken to a Wichita hospital Monday after an early morning crash between a semi-truck and a passenger car. John Kruckenberg, 36, was taken to Wesley Medical Center and is in critical condition.

At 4:15 a.m., a semi-truck heading east on U.S. Highway 50 hit a passenger truck going west. The accident was near U.S. 281 highway, two miles south of St. John, Kansas.

For an unknown reason, the car swerved left of the center line, striking the left front end of the semi-truck, according to the Kansas Highway patrol.
