(WICHITA, Kan.) — The Wichita City Council approves changes to new regulations for halloween attractions.
In July City Council members voted to update rules for haunted houses after hearing from a haunted house operator concerned about safety.
After the new rules were approved, the city heard from some other operators concerned about some of the changes. City leaders sat down with operators and made some modifications to the new rules, which were approved Tuesday morning.
The changes include reducing the minimum age for a license applicant from 21 to 18, extending operating hours until 2:00 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Oct. 31, and midnight on other weekdays. The rules also clarify some inspections and fees and corridor and exit widths.
