Wichita, KS — The Wichita Wingnuts squandered a 5-2 lead, allowing four runs in a fateful 8th inning in a 7-6 loss. The 'Nuts had a chance to move to within 1 1/2 games of the division lead, instead they start the weekend 2 1/2 back of front running Gary, IN which comes into town on Friday for the first of three games over the weekend.
The Wingnuts are down to their last eleven games of the season, they continue to lead in American Association's wildcard race.
