Colby man killed in crash in Phillips County

(PHILLIPSBURG, Kan.) — A Colby man dies in an accident Sunday night north of Phillipsburg in Phillips County.

The accident happened just after 8:20 p.m. at the junction of Highway 183 and K-383 17 miles north of Phillipsburg.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that 85-year-old Loren Turner was driving his Chevy Tahoe east on K-383, and failed to yield the right-of-way to a semi making a left turn onto Highway 183.

Turner died at the scene. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
