(SEDGWOCK COUNTY, Kan.) — Officials say a person has been killed after being pinned under a tree just southeast of Wichita.
It happened around 4:45pm on Saturday near 15590 E. 39th street South. Authorities say a 58-year-old man was trying to move a tree that had been cut down with the front loader on his tractor. The tree rolled, a branch came off and pinned the man to the driver seat of the tractor.
His wife witnessed the accident and tried to help but was unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
