Expect a mainly clear sky around the region for tonight with mild overnight lows in the upper 60s and low 70s and southeast winds.
The heat will crank up for Wednesday and Thursday and more triple digits are likely. Wichita just needs two more 100 degree days to have a new record and we should have no problem getting that with this kind of setup.
We still expect a cold front to reach northwest Kansas Friday, which may bring a few storms to that area Friday evening, but temperatures across much of Kansas will still be hot to start the long holiday weekend.
A much stronger front will arrive Saturday, bringing better chances for storms Saturday night and dropping temperatures SIGNIFICANTLY by Sunday and Monday. Stay tuned.
