September 01, 2011|By Dave Roberts | KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(MEDICINE LODGE, Kan.) — For the sixty second day this summer, Medicine Lodge broke triple digits , it's record is 63 days.

Many medicine lodge residents say this type of heat lasting for this long is unusual...

"It's been in the 100's since June. Usually it's in August when it becomes that hot," said resident John Nixon.

"Right now, I'm thinking, 'OK, it's only four months untill Christmas. But is it really going to be cooler weather?" wondered Sharon Gehlen.

They're hoping that the heat goes away a long time beofre Christmas.
