(WICHITA, Kan.) — As Kansas deals with historic heat, there is something cool going on at Wichita's Intrust Bank Arena.
Crews are putting down the ice floor for an upcoming performance of "Disney On Ice - Toy Story 3".
The process takes several days and includes layers of paint and ice more than an inch thick. While it gets cold, workers say it is not as bad as you would think.
"With the temperature outside over 100 degrees it's not as cold as when we've done it for hockey, when it's colder outside, obviously the colder it is the better off we are (for the ice to freeze)," said Keith Schobert, arena operations manager.
The performances start next week, click the related links for show times and ticket information.
