Man arrested for robbery of Emprise Bank in Valley Center

(VALLEY CENTER, Kan.) — Update:

Valley Center police said Wednesday that 20 year-old Brian E. Carr was arrested early Wednesday morning in Butler County for the bank robbery that occurred at Emprise Bank in Valley Center, Kansas on 9-12-2011. He is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on a Federal Arrest Warrant Complaint.

Valley Center Police are working with the FBI and with the assistance of officers from Sedgwick County, Butler County and the Andover Police department were able to quickly identify and arrest Mr. Carr without incident.

Update: Police say a 30 year-old white man walked into the Emprise Bank in Valley Center Monday and gave a note to the teller indicating he had a weapon.

The man is described as having a slender build and was wearing a Raiders jacket with his face uncovered during the robbery.

Police say he left northbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Officers were searching the area for him.

When asked if the robbery was related to other robberies in the Wichita and Valley center area, the Valley Center police chief said he wasn't aware of any connections.

Valley Center Police Department, Kechi Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s office are on the scene.

No one was injured.

The suspect's vehicle is now being described as a Black Chevy or Dodge truck with the tailgate down.

Sedgwick County emergency crews are searching for a man that robbed a Valley Center bank Monday afternoon.

Police received a call at 4:34 that an Emprise Bank located in the 100 block of North Meridian was robbed.

The suspect is described as a 20 to 30 year-old white male. The man is very thin and has a goatee. He was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve t-shirt with white writing and jeans.
