Health fair expected to draw hundreds in Dodge City

(DODGE CITY, Kan.) — Health officials in Dodge City are getting ready for the fourth annual Victory Electric Health Fair.

The event is expected to draw as many as 1,500 to 2,000 people. It will feature 50 doctors along with other health professionals and vendors.

The event will offer free services like skin cancer screenings, weight management consulting, oral cancer screening, blood pressure checks, vision checks, pap smear/pelvic exams, hearing test, foot inspections, car seat inspection and blood sugar checks.

There will be 200 flu shots offered for $15 each; they are first come, first served. There will also be free blood screenings for $10.

The health fair is designed for those who may not have health insurance or regular access to health care.

"For people who would not otherwise have access to medical advice or medical services, it's a great way for them to come and get free services and take advantage of services many of us take for granted," said Jerri Imgarten, spokesperson for Victory Electric.

The health fair runs from 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Victory Electric Cooperative at 3230 N. 14th in Dodge City.
