(WICHITA, Kan.) — A Wichita woman reaches her goal of 100 marathons by the time she turns fifty.
Rebecca Steven is one of 4,000 runners at Wichita's Prairie Fire races. It's also her 100th marathon. In order to reach her goal, she had to run 12 marathons in the last two months; three back-to-back on the same weekend.
She has been working on her goal for years.
"I ran my first one in 1991 and I thought I would never run again but I tried it 13 years later and I've never stopped. I love running," Steven said.
Steven has run a marathon in all 50 states and even inspired her family to participate well; including her 80-year old father who walked a 5k.
