{WICHITA, Kan.} — The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has selected OF Ryan Patterson as the 2011 league’s Star of Stars. This award was given by Pointstreak to the player that had the best overall statistical performance in the league. Patterson played this past season with the Wichita Wingnuts, Fort Worth Cats and St. Paul Saints.
The Dallas, TX native batted .325 with 20 home runs, 90 RBI and 141 hits (including 54 for extra bases). He also scored 95 runs, collected 32 doubles to go along with a .546 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .382. Patterson played in 99 games and had 237 total bases. The 28-year-old finished in the top five in seven offensive categories. For his efforts, Patterson was selected to the postseason all-star team.
Patterson was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the fourth round of the 2005 draft. He played four seasons in Blue Jays organization before joining the Fort Worth Cats in 2009.
