Kansas State is 11th in first BCS rankings

{MANHATTAN, Kan.} — The Kansas State Wildcats (6-0, 3-0) are the 11th ranked team in the nation according to the first B.C.S. rankings announced Sunday evening.  The Wildcats are 12th in the A.P. poll and 16th in the coach's poll.

K-State has now made appearances in the rankings for three consecutive weeks for the first time since 2003, while the No. 12 ranking is the highest since checking in at No. 12 to open the 2004 season.

Kansas State beat Texas Tech on the road on Saturday for the first time since 1997.  For the first time since 2000 the 'Cats are 6-0 to start the season.

Alabama tops the first BCS rankings followed by Oklahoma, LSU, Oklahoma State and Boise State. 

Kansas State will visit Lawrence this coming weekend for the Sunflower Showdown.  The Wildcats are 14.5 point favorites against the Jayhawks.
