(WICHITA, Kan.) — Westbound Kellogg at 119th Street West will be restricted to one lane for starting Monday. The City of Wichita is doing construction work on the median that divides east and westbound lanes.
The left turn lane for eastbound Kellogg traffic will also be closed, preventing left turn lanes from that direction. A portion of the existing grass median will be removed and replaced with pavement, to align with new and wider lanes on 119th Street north and south of Kellogg.
The traffic signal cycles for Kellogg traffic will be lengthened to keep traffic flowing. This will lead to longer waits for traffic on 119th Street, which is being widened to two lanes in each direction with a center left turn lane, from Maple to Pawnee.
The median work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31. Motorists will be advised of the restrictions at the intersection by electronic message boards at Maize Road and 135th Street West.
