A new website publishes safety ratings for thousands of facilities nationwide. Medicare's Hospital Compare website evaluates hospitals on how often patients suffer complications after surgery or during treatment.
The site also rates medical errors, like giving someone the wrong blood type.
Under health care reform, hospitals with poor records risk losing up to 2% of their Medicare reimbursement.
