Wednesday afternoon will be windy and cool again across Kansas with afternoon highs struggling the mid and upper 50s. Look for sunshine statewide and gusty northerly winds especially over eastern parts of our state. Good news, winds will die quickly with the setting sun and drop below 10 mph by 8 p.m.
Freezing temps are likely Wednesday night over the entire state with light winds and clear skies. A freeze Warning has been issued for nearly all of Kansas Thursday morning with lows dropping into the mid to upper 20s. Our Storm Team 12 Wichita Thursday morning low forecast is 29 degrees so tender plants should be covered up or moved indoors to protect them from the cold. Incidentally, the Air Capital hasn't seen lows in the 20s since April 5th so it has been a while.
Milder temperatures will gradually work their way back into our area by this weekend as afternoon highs climb back into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
