Storm Team 12: Rain, wind, and cold

October 25, 2011|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen

Colder air will be spreading across Kansas overnight as a storm system begins to approach from the west. Clouds will continue to increase through the night and there will be a chance for rain showers in the northwest by the early morning hours of Wednesday.

It's going to be a cloudy day for Wednesday with showers developing around the state. North winds will be gusting over 30 mph with temperatures holding around 40 for highs in the northwest.

Some wet snow may mix with the rain around the Goodland area during the afternoon, but significant accumulations of snow are not likely. Much of central and southern Kansas will still have highs near 50 with chances for afternoon rain showers.

The chance for rain will end Wednesday night with sunshine and light winds returning Thursday.
