(WICHITA, Kan.) — Almost a week later you can still see the evidence of my trip through the obstacle course at the Xtreme Outdoor Training center on 21st and Maize roads. There are yellowing bruises on my knees and shins and a sweet blood blister on my right hand. My lungs were burning, my legs and arms were shaking and I was sore for a couple of days: and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Eric Wilson is the guy who runs the place and even he admits this course is tough. He says people usually start to get worn down and even throw up somewhere between the barrel roll and the tire drag.
It's truly a unique thing in Wichita. They only opened up the course (which they built themselves by the way) a few weeks ago and unfortunately have to close it for the winter months coming up. It will re-open in April and I highly recommend trying it out. They do birthday parties there, team building and group sessions as well as regular fitness classes. Even the Bishop Carroll boys basketball team has been working out there!
