Wichita, KS — UPDATE: A police chase in Wichita ends in an accident, sending two people to the hospital. It happened Saturday night near the intersection at 2nd and Hydraulic.
Officers say they tried to pull over a vehicle, but the driver sped off. Two people were in the vehicle.
Less than a minute later, that vehicle crashed into an SUV. 28 year-old Elvia Santana-Contreras was the only person in the SUV.
The SUV driver and a passenger were critically injured at the time of the accident. Santana-Contreras is currently listed in fair condition at Via Christi on St. Francis hospital in Wichita.
Police say the suspect driver was also injured. He was last listed in good condition. Charges against the driver are likely pending.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash since Wichita Police were involved.
