(McCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan.) — Approximately 50 airmen from McConnell Air Force Base are scheduled to return home Thursday. The airmen have spent the past seven months as part of NATO's mission in Libya.
The airman will return aboard two KC-135 Stratotankers. They will be greeted by base leaders, family and friends.
The 22nd Air Refueling Wing and 931st Air Refueling Group were the first to stand up air refueling operations during the mission in the skies over Libya. They provided air refueling coverage for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
