(GARDEN CITY, Kan.) — Garden City's Lee Richardson Zoo meets a fundraising deadline to raise enough money for its new Cat Canyon exhibit.
With less than a week to go for fundraising toward the end of October, Friends of the Lee Richardson Zoo were still short of their necessary goal.
The organization says several donors came in at the last minute, including one large anonymous donation.
Friends of the zoo say they will continue to take donations toward the zoo, but they will no longer be actively campaigning for donations specifically for Cat Canyon.
Work on the new exhibit could begin as early as March.
