The Backstretch Blog: Kyle's parking should be a learning experience

November 07, 2011|By HEATHER WILLIAMS | Eyewitness Sports

Over the weekend NASCAR took the drastic step of parking Kyle Busch for the weekend, after he wrecked Ron Hornaday, Jr. under caution in the truck race. This is at least the third incident that involved Busch and what most would characterise as bad judgement. You may remember that Busch was ticketed for going 128 mph back in May. Also in May, Busch sent Kevin Harvick'se empty car into the pit wall after the race at Darlington.

Despite having his drivers licence suspended by the state of North Carolina, and being placed on probation by NASCAR, it doesn't seem that Busch has learned much from his previous punishments. Cheers to NASCAR for taking the next step. I'm sorry that it had to come to this.

Busch adds to much to a race weekend. I mean if everyone in the garage area wore the white hat, that would be boring. And his pure joy for the sport is evident every time he jumps into a car. But he cant keep being reckless. In a sport at is inherently dangerous, the last thing NASCAR should tolerate is someone that makes it more so.

I hope that Busch has done a lot of soul searching over the weekend. The last think I would want to see is him lose his ride or face even more punishment from NASCAR.
