(BUTLER COUNTY, Kan.) — Five fire departments battle a mobile home fire in northeast of Benton in Butler County Thursday morning.

According to Benton Police Captain, James Welch, who is also a firefighter, the call of fire came out around 9:49 a.m. Flames were coming from all sides of a double wide mobile home on NW 10th and Tawakoni, north and east of Benton.

When crews arrived on scene, the back side of the home was fully engulfed with flames. The propane and electric were shut off shortly after firefighters arrived.

Firefighters from Benton's Butler County #7, Potwin, Whitewater, Towanda and Andover helped fight the blaze. Firefighters were forced to attack the flames from outside the home for the duration of the fire.

No one was at home when fire broke out and no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Welch calls the home a total loss.
