Girls testify their mother drove them to Wichita for sex

(WICHITA, Kan.) —

A Wichita man accused of working out a deal with a Kansas City woman to have sex with her underage daughters appeared in court Friday. Forty-seven year-old James Lamont Brown is charged with ten counts of rape and ten counts of aggravated human trafficking. He's also a registered sex offender.

During a preliminary hearing Friday, a 14-year-old girl testified the abuse started around 2005 when she was 8 and her sister was seven. She said her mother drove them from Kansas City to a motel in Wichita about 40 times and all three had sex with Brown, whom she referred to as Lamont.

The younger sister, now 13, also testified. She said her mom would "get mad" at the girls when they cried while being raped by Brown.

"He would come to one of me and (my sister) and sometimes I'll go first and sometimes (my sister) will go first," she said.

The 13 year-old said Brown wanted to get the girls pregnant because their mother wasn't able to have anymore children.

She also testified her mother would supply Brown with baby oil and vaseline before he raped the girls. She said just prior to their trips to Wichita, their mother made them shave their bodies and use a sexual device in preparation for Brown.

"She (mother) would tell us to go in her room to go get this toy that is like a vibrate thing," the 13 year-old said.

After the testimony, the judge decided there was enough evidence for Brown to go to trial. The trial is scheduled for January 9.

The girls' mother is also charged with the same 20 counts. She waived her preliminary hearing and will also face trial in January.
