Kansas tries to salvage season at Texas A&M

November 18, 2011|KWCH 12 Eyewitness Sports

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - — Texas A&M can't reach the goals it had at the beginning of the season.

Texas A&M has lost its last three and is one win shy of qualifying for a bowl with two games remaining heading into Saturday's matchup with Kansas. The Aggies believe that the only way to salvage anything positive from this season will be to beat the Jayhawks this week and knock off archrival Texas next Thursday.

But for a team that was expected to contend for a Big 12 conference title and possible even a national championship in the preseason, even the thought of finishing the season that way rings hollow.

Senior safety Trent Hunter says he's upset with how Texas A&M's season has turned out, but that he doesn't see the Aggies losing the next two games.
