(WICHITA, Kan.) — Seneca is scheduled to reopen Tuesday night to handle traffic for the holiday weekend.
Tom Hein, a spokesperson for KDOT, says crews are currently trying to secure the loose concrete as a temporary fix.
Seneca will close again November 28th through Friday December 9th for the first phase of
repairs to the bridge. Installation of a new girder and repairs to the bridge deck will require the closure while repairs are made to the bridge overhead.
Southbound Seneca at Kellogg is expected to reopen today after being closed in order to remove loose concrete from a damaged bridge girder.
A truck struck and damaged the Kellogg bridge over Seneca last week. Kansas Department of Transportation and City engineers have determined that damage to the bridge is limited to the outside girder.
