Wichita street renamed as part of Wildcat Classic

December 08, 2011|By Chris Durden | KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(WICHITA, Kan.) — No, it's not a street in Manhattan. It's wildcat way in downtown Wichita.

The city has temporarily renamed Waterman near INTRUST Bank Arena for tonight's K-State -- West Virginia basketball game.

Thursday's game is the first time Frank Martin and the Cats face off against Bob Huggins since he left to coach the Mountaineers four years ago.

The schools will play each other on a regular basis soon. West Virginia is leaving the Big East and joining K-State and KU in the Big 12.
